As usual, I am behind and have been here for ten days without making a single post. In my defense, I started working almost as soon as I got off the plane, but I knew that the trip would be a good one, because I saw my bag make the connection in Amsterdam!
Katrina Robb picked me up from the airport, we dropped my bags at the house, had some breakfast, found me some tools and were off to join her father, Ruaraidh (pronounced "Rory"). He and Katrina work together. Katrina just qualified last year and has her own van, so they will work separately on small jobs, and meet up for larger yards. The biggest shock for me was being offered tea, coffee and biscuits at every stop we went to that day! You learn very quickly that a "biscuit" is not just a cookie, but any small, sweet thing that is served with tea/coffee.
I got to see a lot in the first day and half- from cracks of which I have never seen the like to Imprint shoes applied to a foundered pony. Friday through Sunday were spent at the Royal Highland Show.
